Welcome, in this site we present an extension of the XPath query language for the handling of flexible queries. Our approach proposes two structural constraints called down and deep in XPath and for which a certain degree of relevance can be associated. In addition, we provide fuzzy operators and, or and avg for XPath conditions. In this way, users can express the priority they give to answers. Such fuzzy operators can be combined to provide ranked answers.

Moreover, we have designed too a method for debugging XPath Quieries. We will describe how XPath expressions can be manipulated in order to obtain a set of alternative XPath expressions that match to a given XML document. For each alternative XPath expression we will give a change degree that represents the degree in which the expression deviates from the initial expression. Thus, our work is focused on providing to the programmer a repertoire of paths that (s)he can use to retrieve answers.

Our approach has been implemented by means of the fuzzy logic language MALP (multi-adjoint logic programming), using the FLOPER (Fuzzy LOgic Programming Environment for Research) tool developed in our research group. It is important to remark that we have taken profit of the clear sinergies existing between both target and object fuzzy languages (i.e. the extended XPath dialect and MALP, resp.).
